![]() His Heavy would be enthusiastic to have him with him. Medic doesn't know Chevy, or any of his goons, and they don't know him either and they quite obviously don't respect him and his Heavy would never say shit like that and he knows it. And since Chevy's entire personality and character exists as an obstacle specifically for Medic and later Heavy to overcome and has no personality outside of the context of their story and conflict, in this regard, he and Heavy truly are total opposites. The opposite of what Chevy does for like. Heavy, his Heavy, is the best example because he not only thanks Medic all the time, he's constantly saying how he's great and he's a credit to the team and that he loves him, et cetera. Often casually or as an afterthought but they still do it a lot, making sure to thank him for his help whenever possible. (We'll look at some voice lines later, but for now I'm going to assume you know the basics.) He craves attention and acknowledgement that his inventions and experiments are something special, and seems to prefer positive reactions to negative ones, (for example, reacting with anger and hatred upon being told that they all think he's "crazy" by the SecOp.) Medic's own, actual, original team compliment him a lot. (late/05-22) Sorry, I need to clarify what I mean so tangent imminent: We can see several times throughout the game's voice lines that that Medic really, really dislikes being taken for granted. ![]() I don't think he expected to care so much about that group he'd worked with, hell, I don't think he wanted to care at all, but this right here is the tipping point where it finally seems to click that he can't just replace his friends like that. I think somewhere, Medic expected to be able to switch out his old team with the first bunch of assholes that offered him money. A medic and a heavy are supposed to help one another. It's probably still ingrained in his brain just like it is in ours. Not anywhere near Chevy, obviously, but rather back to back with his Heavy. That's where he's spent countless hours, that's where he feels happy in the midst of battle, that's where he's claimed some of his greatest victories. Because that's where he's supposed to be, isn't it. "I'll be right behind you." I'll be right behind you. And look at what Medic is (rudely interrupted from) saying here. Well, this slew of panels in ch5, Old Wounds, is when it happens, I think, more specifically bottom left. (and also this.) So what pushed Medic over the edge if not that? Instead he stays loyal even past the reviving of Sniper AND in spite of Chevy literally grabbing Archimedes like a rag and breaking his tiny little bird spine like a total monster, But uuh, why did he do that at the time when he did? After all, he could have noped out practically at any time. Shortly after that he quits, quietly betrays the TFC team and joins his friends on the battlefield. Later he does bring him back to life though. Medic, our Medic that is, works with them for quite some time, even going so far as to let Classic Sniper kill TF2 Sniper right in front of him while doing nothing to stop it. He is the leader of the TFC team who serve as antagonists in the storyline for the main comic, and you've seen his stupid face before. His real name is Chevy, (yes, seriously,) and he is a fucking ween. Probably something to do with how a lot of Heavy is probably just Medic's experiments by now, his 'creation.'Īllow me to introduce you to Classic Heavy. Anyway, let's call it Frankenstein's Monster. This is the only good picture I have (I'm sorry lmao) but basically Medic is here dressed as Frankenstein while Heavy is dressed as what I've been told I'm not allowed to call a frankenstein (lower case f) because Frankenstein high-key hated his creation and didn't want it anywhere near him, which tells me for certain that Medic and Heavy did not read the book. In it, Merasmus stuff happens, and also some of the mercs attempt to play DnD with Miss Pauling, but also… This is a halloween update comic called Gargoyles and Gravel - Scream Fortress 7. I have to say, I really like this artstyle. Of course all the Iconic Pairs are right next to each other even if they're all on opposite teams. Because there's a lot to say about the big main one I'll begin with mentioning everything outside of it, starting off with is one piece from the Catch-up Comic. This is (one of) my personal favourite topics the TF2 comics.
